Basketball Does Effects Height
I just read one of Kay's blogs and she was talking about people height and she said the playing basketball does not help people go grow taller, but I disagree with that. I started to play basketball when I was 13 and my height grew form 5-45 to 5-8 in a year and half and now I'm 5-10.5. What I want to say it playing basketball does help people to grow taller, but not every one and even thought it help you, but not a lot. I read about that form some books, articles and news papers. Because I was very carzy about basketball before ( I still very like it, but just not as before when I started learn how to play it ) and I did a lot of reading about basketball. Also, I found of the some kinds of basketball's practices do help people grow up taller such as jumping. We do a lot of jumping during the basketball game or during the practice and that helps. Also. between 13-16 the is the best age for all the people to grow up. If the people who want to grow up taller they batter eat the nutrient food and eat on time everyday and sleep well. They have to play sports to such as basketball. Most of the people will grow their height untill 22-23 and after 23 most of the people will not grow anymore, but uauslly after 18 people's body will slow down of growing. Sports do help people grow taller in some ways, but it also base on what they eat and the environment around them when they are growing up. The major effect of people height is the gene(like DNA ) that they get from thire parents.

This is interesting. I knew that DNA was the most important factor and that good nutrition was necessary, but I really didn't know that playing a sport, especially basketball, would help someone get taller. I wish I had known when I was 10!
