Last Blog in This Semester

This is the last blog I am going to write in this semester. I don't have a lot to say, but there are two things I want to say in here. First, I want to say that we have a lovely class in this semester. Some of the classmates I konw them before and some of them I didn't konw them before, but we all become friends now. The thing I like about going to school is we always can make friends in the school. Second, I want to thank out teacher Elaine. Elaine, the is no question that you are a good teacher. I gale that I have you as my teacher again. My writing is always improve a lot when I with you. I really want to thank you and I think the best gift for teacher is to pass the test and I will do my best to try to pass the placement text. Also, I wish all of us will pass the placement test...

LOL

Lol, I am so happy now because Boston Celtics just win the game and they will go into the final in the East and Cleveland Cavaliers is going home. I am not a big fan of Celtics, but I am a fan of Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. I am so happy because I really don't like James and I am a big fan of Lakers. Next week the third round will start and it's getting more interesting. Lakers VS Suns in the West and I don't think the Suns will cause a lot of problems to the Lakers and I think Lakers will win in 5 or 6 games. Magic VS Celties in the Eest and both of them are strong team, but the Magic beat up the Celties last year. I think Magic will win the third round in the East, but they might paly all 7 games.I guess the Lakers will meet the Magic in the final and I hope the Lakers will win. Lakers beat the Magic in the final last year, but the Magic did some changed during and the got stonger. It's not easy to beat them again, but I believe the Lakers will do it again if Kobe keep playing good...

Traffic Light

We have to walk a little bit form the LINCC's building to the main campus in the school and we have to pass one traffic light during that little walk. What I want to talk about today is about this traffic light. The traffic light is set in a crossroads which is a busy road in the morning and the evening because students and the people who work in the school have to go the schoo or work at the morning and off form school in the evening..The traffic light borke yesterday and that wasn't the first time..Form what I saw that should be the seventh times in this semester already and the it might more than that. That could be very dangerous for the students or the people who take that road to the school everyday. When the traffic light broke it often stay in the same color. Sometimes one side was staying in red and one side was staying in green and sometimes both sides were staying in red.That makes the drivers confusing and easy to have accidents. 7 times in one semester at a busy road that is a lot...

Mother's Day

Today is mother's day a special for all the monthes in the world. Mother's Day is a worldwide holiday and I guess most of the people in the world would celebrate it. Mother is the greatest person in the world and that's why we have Mother's Day. Most of the people will buy gifts for their mothers or take them out for dinner. I want to take my mom to a dinner tonight, but I can't because I have to work tonight. Mother's Day is the busiest day for the Chinese restaurant (where I work) in a year so I can't take off today. However, I don't have to do that today and instead of take my mom out for dinner I will do it on Tuesday.Also, because I don't know what is good for my mom or what does she want I would give her money instead of gift usually, so she can buy whatever she wants. Also, wish all the mothers in the world would have a happen mother's day and healthy lives.

Cat

I would like to write about pet today since we are talking about animals in the class this week. I only had one pet so far in my life and it was a cat. I named my cat "short tail" because her tail was shorter than other cats. I remember I got her form one of my parents' friends when I was about 9 years old. Short tail was born only one month when I got her, she still a baby at that time..I remember she was afeard of people at the first week in our house and she didn't eat a lot. I guess she missed her mom. However, we became friends soon. I played with her every time I was at home and for me she was a playful kid...Short tail acted like a dog, she followed me to school every monring and she seem to know when I would get off from school and waited for me in the doorway. She would sleep with me in the winter time, but she never went to the head of the bed instead of that she always went to the back of the bed.Also, she liked to play with mice and birds. She caught a lot of mice, but she never killed them right the way and she liked to play with them. She would let the mouse go and then catch it back and let it go and then catch it back. She would play with the mouse until it die...She had her first birth after three years in my house and there were five babies cats..Our family felt happy about her, but the nightmare came after her babies were born. She ate the posion (someone put it somewhere for the mice) by accident and then she died two days after that . We tried so hard to try to save her, but it was unsuccessful. I was so sad and I couldn't control my tears when I was in my bed that night.Also, we had to face another problem after short tail died and the problem was her babies. They were born only two weeks when their mother died and their eyes were not even open at that time. We had to save them and we fed them with milk for more then three weeks( I didn't remember the exact number). Unfortunately two of them were died during that three weeks and three of them were alive. I felt sorry for short tail that I couldn't save all of her babies. We gave all of her babies(three) to our friends because I didn't want pet anymore...It was so bad to watch you pet pass away and I didn't want to have the feeling again.

Couldn't Fall Asleep

I am so tired today beucase I had a hard day yesterday and Icould't fall asleep last night.Monday is my busiest day in a week. I go to the school in the morning and I have to work in the school library lab and after the school job I have to work in the restaurant until 9:30..Usually I will get really tired at the end of the day, so try to sleep early in Monday night.. I really didn't know why I couldn't fall asleep. It usually happens when something happen to me and I keep thinking of it, but not this time... There nothing special happen to me in the last few months. I went to sleep at 11:30 p.m last night, and I think I fell asleep at 1:00 a.m at the morning. Also, I woke up three time between 1:00 a.m-5:00 a.m and that means I didn't sleep well last night...However, I tried to take a nap to make up my sleep when I got home(around 5:00p.m), but I just find out that I can't fall asleep again. I can say that I couldn't fall asleep in last night might because the weather(because yesterday was hot and the air was sticky too), but I really don't know why I couldn't sleep today..It's nice out side today...

A Night in the City

I just get back form Manhattan. Today is one of friends brithday (actuality was yesterday because now is 2:10 a.m at the monring), so we went out to the city and have dinner with some of his friends. We went to a Indian restaurant at 45 streest 6 Ave. The name of the restaurant is Utsve. I had never been in a real Indian restaurant and try the Indian food before.The food was great and I like it, but my favorite is the mango milk shake in there..I fell in love with that milk shake...It taster so good....After the dinner we hang around in the city and we had fun there..I didn't go to Manhattan that much especially at night. I had a great time tonight...

How to Train Your Dragon

I just watch the movie How to Train Your Dragon and it's a computer animated fantasy film which is my favorite kind. I like it not because it is an animation, I like it because it's a good movie. I don't want to talk too much about what is going on in the movie and if people like it they can go watch it..However, I do want to talk about is a code that from this movie 'stop trying so hard to be something that you are not". I want to talk about the code because I completely agree that. In my opinion the code means you have to know yourself well and do not trying to aspired something that you are not good with such as if you don't have a good voice do not try to be a singer and if you are not good with drawing do not try to be an artist.......Many people don't even know what they are good with and when they see their friends are easily successful on something they try to follow their friends do what they do because they think if their friends can do it easily and they can do it too...Anyway, that is not truth. There no easy way to be success in the world, if someone successful on something they must good with it and work hard on it.If people want to be success first they have to know themselves well enough and know what they can do and what they can't do. Second, they have to know what they are good with so they can pick the right subject to study when they are in the college and then you persist for it. There are no best subject and no best people in the world. Everyone is born with something good. If you know what is good for you and then you work hard for it you will be success. And if you don't know what do you good with and you set the wrong goal in your life you will never be success just like what I say in the beginning if you don't have a great voice and your goal is to become one of the greatest singers in the country or world you will never have a chance to reach your goal in your life. Nothing is the best, but the thing fit you it the best. Some of the people really have to pick up their mine and think about what fit them. It's time to stop trying hard to be something that you are not.

Cooking

I am an excellent cook, but I don't cook a lot. I didn't really know how did I leran cooking. I didn't watch the cooking shows, cooking books and ask people how to cook something. Usually I watch people cook something once and I will know how to cook that thing. Also, I know how to cook something I have never try to cook it before. I am very good with mixing thing together and use my own ways to cook them. Anyway,everyone is born with something good and I pick up cooking skill very fast maybe that is a skill I am born with. ..Also, in my opinion if a person wants to be a excellent cook he/she has to have patience.Why? Becuase delicious food don't make in a second. If you want to cook something good, you might have to prepare for hours and hours before you cook the them. Also, it's not easy to prepare the food before you cook them, there are so many small steps you have to do them step by step. That why I say patience is the base need to be a excellent cook.

However, I don't cook a lot even thought I am a good cook.I don't cook a lot because I live with my sisters and usually they will cook and if they don't have time to cook I will cook for them. Two of my sisters are not at home, so I am the only one who stay at home today . Usually I don't cook if only me at home, but I change my mine today because I just realize I didn't cook for a month already. Nevertheless, I decide to cook something good for myself so I go out and buy some steaks and crabs. I use half hour to cook them and I don'tspend a lot of time with the steak, but I spend a little bit of time with the crabs beucase I have to kill them. After all I get myself a glass of red wine and turn on my favorite music and enjoy my dinner....

Policeman

There are policemans come to the restaurant (where i work) every week and I saw one today. They always come in form the back door and they just order food, but they never pay. They always come in form the back door and I am the only one who can speak English in the kitchen, so usually I am the one who will take care of thier orders. There are few policemans always come the the restaurant and they never pay for the food and never give you tips.Also, there are few policemans always try to pay for the food, but my boss never charge them. So my boss will give me those money as tips.Some policemans come into the restaurant want to buy some food and they will pay for it and they will give tips, but some for them just come in and take some food and never want to pay for it...I geuss it's not bad to be a policeman becuase you can get feel food any time you want.

Mournful

Our nation(China) is mourning for the victims in Yushu's earthquake. All the public entertainment stop for one day in China such as all the online game shut down today, all the websites that you can watch movies or shows pause service and most of the websites set it grey, black and white. Also, all the national flags are half down for the victims in this earthquake.
I remembered they did that for three days in the Sichuan earthquake in 2008. Total 2064 people died and 175 people are still missing until today. Many charities are tring to help the disaster area. The whold country is tring to help the people in Yushu. Some of the people volunteer to there and help. The people can go there and help are donating money..The CCTV(China Central Television) relief party fund-raising 2.175 billion dollers to help the people. Also, a lot of other foundations are raising money to help Yushu. Hope the Yushu and the people who live there can recover soon....

Allergy

I feel so fatigued and exhausted today. I felt so bad when I woke up in the monring and I didn't really want to go to school, but I went to school anyway.. Just like what Kay said today "You looks like you are dying" Yes, I really felt I was dying during the class this morning.I really didn't know why I felt that way. The only one thing that I could think of and might cause me feel so bad is Allergy. The is the second year I have allergy, but last year I didn't feel so bad. Anyway, the allergy is getting very serious for me this year, I have to take medication in order to feel better. My eyes are so itched and I couldn't stop touch them. I have running nose and keep emitting sneezes.Also, I got cold and cough two weeks ago and I am still coughing right now.. It seem like all the illness come t0 me together..I went to the doctor this afternoon and I hate going to my family doctor becuase I always ahve to wait for a long thime even I have an appointemnt. I usually spend at least three hours to see my doctor. It takes 40 minutes to get there and takes 40 minutes to come back and spend at least 45 minutes to wait in there (today I waited like one hours and it was not a lot of patiens there).. Even thought I had an appointment I still have to sit there and waited for a hour. I don't know why I need an appointment for. Also,my doctor only spent 15 minutes with me and then gave me three prescriptions two were for the allergy(one was eye drop) and one was for coughing. Nevertheless, I found out one of the allergy medicine which is the most important one was not cover by my insurance, that means I have to make some phone calls and talk to my doctor about that and that is the another I hate to do it.....

Cleveland Cavaliers

Tomorrow is the first day of the NBA playoffs and I feel excited about that. Of course Lakers is my favorite team and Bryant is my favorite player. Lakers was the champion last year and all they want to do is champion, but thire outlook are not bright this year. It's very hard for them to get the champion a again. One of the biggest problem for them is Bryant, he has a very bad injury in his finger and that effect him a lot. He has very poor shooting percentage after he broke his finger. Also, Andrew Bynum was injury, but he will get recover soon, he might can play the first game.Anyway, I don't think the Lakers will have a problem of winning in the West. Dallas Mavericks will play for the San Antonio Spurs in the first round in the West and both of them are storng teams. The Spurs won 3 champions in the last ten years and Mavericks went into the final and few times in the West final too. On the East Clevelans Cavaliers will meet Boston Celtics in the second round if they both win the the first round. I don't think they will have any problems of winning the first round because both of them are strong team. Celtics was the champion in 2008 and Cavaliers is the best team in the regular season this year and both of them are looking for the champion and the favori in this year. Also, another strong team in the East is Orlando Magic and Magic is one of my favorites team too. Magic is my favorite because of Vince Carter and Dwight Howard. Also, Magic was in the final last year.I am so excited and I can wait to see the game..It's not easy for Lakers to win again, but also is not easy for Cavaliers to win because they has to beat up the Celtics and Magic first.

The Earthquake in China

The government finds out there are more than 760 people died in the earthquake in Jiegu until today and 243 people are missing. Also, more than 1174 are having severe injuries and more than 5000 have been treated and released form the hospital. There are more than 900 times aftershock. The bad thing is very hard to send what the poeple need to Jiegu because most of the roads can be use anymore..They don't have enough doctors and medical suppies there, but a lot of the doctor group are going to there or already there. Also, the government uses the the airplanes to delievr the things the people need such as medical suppies, water and food. However, there is one good things. The whole country got the experience form the Sichuan earthquake in 2008, so people and the government know how to deal with this earthquake the time. God bless them all....

Exercising

Summer is coming and it's time for me to exercise and that's why I like summer time because I can do some outdoors activities. I love outdoors activties. I remembered I used to play basketball with my friends at least two hours a day in outside, but I didn't play it very much when I come here. I didn't play basketball here because I don't have a lot of friends here and not all of my friends like basketball. Aslo, some of my friends do like basketball, but we lives far away form each other so we are not be able to play together.Anyway, I didn't do a lot of exercise since I was here, so I got fatter and fatter. Also, I feel easy to get tired now and I think I I don't have enough of exercisie so I decide to do more exercisie. Usually I will exercise at home because nobody go to the gym room with me and I dont want to go by myself. However, I have the a treadmill, a jump rope, a sti up bench and a weigh set...Also, I go to play basketball on Saturday or Sunday monring every week..

Basketball Does Effects Height

I just read one of Kay's blogs and she was talking about people height and she said the playing basketball does not help people go grow taller, but I disagree with that. I started to play basketball when I was 13 and my height grew form 5-45 to 5-8 in a year and half and now I'm 5-10.5. What I want to say it playing basketball does help people to grow taller, but not every one and even thought it help you, but not a lot. I read about that form some books, articles and news papers. Because I was very carzy about basketball before ( I still very like it, but just not as before when I started learn how to play it ) and I did a lot of reading about basketball. Also, I found of the some kinds of basketball's practices do help people grow up taller such as jumping. We do a lot of jumping during the basketball game or during the practice and that helps. Also. between 13-16 the is the best age for all the people to grow up. If the people who want to grow up taller they batter eat the nutrient food and eat on time everyday and sleep well. They have to play sports to such as basketball. Most of the people will grow their height untill 22-23 and after 23 most of the people will not grow anymore, but uauslly after 18 people's body will slow down of growing. Sports do help people grow taller in some ways, but it also base on what they eat and the environment around them when they are growing up. The major effect of people height is the gene(like DNA ) that they get from thire parents.

Singh

I met Singh today in the cmputer lab. He was one of my classmates in level three and I didn't see him since we finished level three. It's amazing that I just talked about him with Van in this morning and I met him in the afternoon. We have a experssion in Chinese “never talk about something bad behind a person" means uauslly when you talk about a person behind him he will show up and hear it. I was so happy to see him again and we talked for a while and he made me thought of the old day when we were in level three. We used to go out with our classmates together. .Also, I found out he is Swarnjeet brother while I was talking to him and I didn't know that before.

Four Great Classical Novels

I felt so broed during the work time in the compture in this afternoon (because today is not besy at all), so I went out of the lab and tried to find somethings to read in the bookshelf. I found some Chinese books in one of the bookshelfs and they all written in Chinese. That was surprised me beucase I never expect the college has Chinese books in the libaray.
I found three out of four of the Four Great Classical Novels in the bookshelf. "Journey to the West", "Dream of the Red Chabmer ", "Water Margin" and "Romance of the Kingdoms" are the four great classical novels in China. Every Chinese would hear or konw about the foure books even thought they don't read them. Three of them are in the libaray besides the "Water Margin".
I picked out the "Dream of the Red Chabmer" and tried to read it. I picked that book because I already know what's going on in the other three books, but not the "Dream of the Red Chabmer". However, I found there are so many words and expressions I didn't really understand in that book becuase it was written in 1784. There are a lot of old words and expression in the book that we don't use in nowadays, so I put it back.


( :( I use half hour to write this blog with three long paragraphs (longer than this one above), but when I finish and hit publish post and I dno't know what is wrong it can't be post. However, I go back to this pag and the paragraphs I just write is gone. I have to do it again :( )

An Old Friend

The friend went to the Auto show with me in yesterday is one of my old friends and we didn't see each other at least 7-8 years. He was one of my classmates in 7-9 grade and after 9 grade we went to different school. He comes to the U.S 7 months ago. He lived in another state before so we didn't have a chance to meet each other yet, but he moved to N.Y like 2 months ago. When I saw him yesterday I almost didn't recognize him, he change a lot. I didn't't konw how to describe the feel when I first saw him, it was kind of weird. Why was weird? Because I should konw him well enough as my old friend, but I also felt unfamiliar from him. Anyway, I was happy to meet him amd we had a good time together. We talked a lot about the past and that mede me remember a lot of the happy things and time that we had been go through.

Auto Show

I'm almost recover onw, but I'm so tired. I'm tired because I go to the auto show with my firend today and I walk for a few hours in the city. I should meet my firnd at 10:30 in the city buy we kind of lose and can't find each other. After walking 20minutes we find each other and then we go to the show. I went to the auto show three times already so that show isn't new for me.The reason why i go there this year is because I want to take my friend there(He never go there).The show is ok for me I see a lot of new car and take some pictures.All the pictures I take are sport car. I used to take a lot of picture, but not this year. I dont take the much picture in this year becuase my sister lost my camaera so I dont have camarea with me and I just take the pictures with my phone. There is one car that I really like it lexus LFA. LFA is a new car and it just hit the market and only 500 in the world. The company started to build that car since 2006 and it come out in this year.For me the LFA is so cool and hot.

Sick

I'm feeling so bad right now and I just wake up. I didn't have a good sleep last night, I felt like I couldn't breathe and I coughed while I was sleeping last night.I felt I have little sick in morning, but I couldn't take a rest because I was too busy in morning I had to work in the school for 8 hours and then work in the restaurant in night. I started to feel so bad after work. It causes me to cough and have cold every time I have sore throat.
I have a plan with my friend to go to stony brook to visit our friend tomorrow and go to the Auto Show on Friday, but I don't want to go no where. I hat to get sick during the vacation...

My Collection

I like to collect something ralate to those cartoons I like. Gundam models are the things I like to collect. I watched the fist Gundam cartoon when I was 13 and I love it. I had my first Gundam models when I was 14 and after the first one I started to buy more and more.I had more than 20 Gundam models when I was in China but I left them in China when I have to come here. Even thought I am here I still like them and I buy more and more. I have 15 in the U.S now. Everytimws I have extra money I will buy one more. The Cundam models aren't cheap,I have some are more than $100, so I can buy all of them in once.I like the codels because I think they are cool and I enjoy the process of building them.When you buy a model there are so many pieces and you have to build it piece by piece.Afher building the model you can use colors to paint it. It is not easy to make a good medel.There are some of mine above...

One Piece

One Piece is one of my favorite animes and it's one of the most famous animes in Asia or even in the world. One Piece is a Japanese anime. One Piece is a manga series when it publishes(1997) and it's written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. Because of so many people follow the manga series so Toei Animation (the producer) produces the anime series and publishes on October 20, 1999.Since then, the still ongoing series has broadcast more than four hundred episodes and it has been translate to many different languages to various countries around the world. The story still is not finish yet, even though it publishes for more than ten yesrs.
One Piece is a story about pirate and the leading character Luffy becomes a pirate order to follow his dream. I like this anime because it's funny, full of furious and very touch you. The whole story is about fighting for dream and friendship.

My Hobby

One of my hobbies is watch cartoons. I love watch cartoon and most of the cartoons I watch are from Japan. Some people say that cartoon just for the children, but i disagree. There are a lot of cartoons for adult and not for the children. I don't know about the U.S, but in my country many people like to watch cartoons. Most of the cartoons that I watch don't broadcast on the TV and I watch them online. I have almost 400 gigabytes cartoons in one of my hard drives. If I like the cartoons after I watch them I will download and save them in the computer. Some of my favorite cartoons are Slam Dunk, One Piece, Hikaru No Go and Gundam(series). Tomorrow I will take about one of them.
